you can make a 2D object very easily using autoCAD. I am using autoCAD 2010 so i am going to demonstrate on this version.
Making a cube:
1) Open autoCAD and save the file in any directory you want.
2) You can use the toolbar given by default.
3) Select "rectangle" from the toolbar and specify its edges or to be more specific"dimensions".
4) in the comand line enter "ext" to extrude the object i-e to give it a "third dimension".
5) Now select the object i-e the square you just made and specify its height of extrusion*.
6) Save your drawing.
Your drawing will look like this.
